January 18, 2023, our family lost our beloved Cruz Burris, (son, brother, and friend) a freshman at Lansing High School due to experimenting with a fake drug. Cruz purchased what he thought was Percocet from a local drug dealer he found on social media. The fake drug contained enough Fentanyl to kill him instantly.

Although our pain will never go away, I received a calling to use this tragedy and turn it to a positive direction by using my voice to educate parents and children of the real deadly effects of experimenting with illicit pills ... One pill can kill!

My beautiful wife, Rhonda and I are proud parents of 16-year-old Jaci Burris of LHS.
